After rising for more than a month, gas prices have now dropped nine days in a row.

AAA predicts that downward trend will continue. Consumers could now see average gas prices drop as low as $2 a gallon nationwide this spring and summer due to an abundance of crude oil on the market.

The national average for gas is currently $2.42 a gallon making that $1.10 less than what consumers paid last year at this time.
