Rayne Police are investigating the shooting death of a Jennings man.  Police said in a statement that the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Saturday at the Frog City Travel Plaza.  Police say they found the victim, 32 year old Christopher Trent of Jennings, after responding to multiple calls-for-service regarding an in-progress shots fired incident.  Police say Trent was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he later died. Police are asking anyone with information concerning this crime, to contact the Acadiana Crime Stoppers Unit at 789-TIPS or the Rayne Police Department. Callers can remain anonymous and information that results in the arrest of the offenders will receive a cash reward.  No further details were released.  The investigation is ongoing.
