Fire Chief Jude Mire with the Abbeville Fire Department confirmed with News 10 that Centerpoint Energy subcontractor LNGS broke a 2-inch pressurized natural gas line in downtown Abbeville at Lafayette St./ S. Washington St. on Monday. The incident took place around 3:45 in the afternoon and the area was shut off to traffic until 6:00 in the evening when Centerpoint Energy stopped the leak.
