A new farmers market is coming to a portion of Lafayette Parish that is experiencing rapid growth and development.
Carencro will welcome its first farmers market from 3 to 6 p.m. downtown behind city hall. The Carencro Farmers Market will be held the last Saturday of each month through October.
The market will offer fresh produce, arts and crafts, weekly musicians, children’s activities, demonstrations, non-profit organization booths and more.
The goals of the market are to:
- increase profitability of farms and ranches
- offer a low-cost marketing opportunity for small producers
- create a direct connection between producers and consumers
- foster social gathering and interaction among residents
