A New Iberia man is accused of robbing a New Iberia convenience store. Thirty two-year-old Tyrone Jackson was charged with armed robbery and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

Deputies responded to the penny wise convenience store in the 1600 block of Jane Street around six Tuesday morning.

They say the suspect pulled a handgun, stole money from the clerk, and fled on foot.

Deputies found Jackson about a half mile away from the crime scene. Investigators say Jackson may be responsible for other armed robberies in the parish and could face more charges.
