A man who agreed to meet for sex with a detective posing as a 15-year-old girl was arrested Friday in a sting operation.
Louis James, 35, of Lot 59 at 127 Emy Lane, Patterson, was booked on one count each of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office’s arrest report.
Authorities first received a complaint about James on Thursday, when the parent of a 13-year-old girl reported that he called the girl “sweetie” on Facebook, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A detective followed up by posing as a 15-year-old girl on Facebook, and the two agreed to meet on Zenor Road for sexual acts. James arrived at the location at about 10:30 p.m. and tried to flee once he realized the arrangement was a sting, but he was apprehended by other detectives waiting nearby, the Sheriff’s Office said. James was booked into the St. Mary Parish jail.
