At KLFY News 10 we want to take the opportunity to give back to the community so we’ve teamed up with Bob Giles and Giles Automotive to do just that.
We go out into the community to find a Good Samaritan and then, we give that person 500 dollars cash and challenge them to “pay it forward” by giving that money away to someone truly deserving.
News 10 met up with Bob St. Clair who says, “I know of one right now that’s in the hospital, with pneumonia, he’s going blind. He had to get out the service early. He was on the back of a tank in Iran or Iraq and the tank took off and he fell off and broke both legs, both feet.”
The gift came at the perfect time. Randy Rushing was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and his friend thought he could use some good news. The two men have a special bond. They first served their country with Bob, a veteran of the US Navy, and Randy, a veteran of the Army. They came home, to serve their community as members of the Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard. Together, they pay final tribute to fallen soldiers with full military honors at their funerals. It’s their way of showing appreciation for all those who have served our country.
But on that day, one comrade, served the other by paying it forward.”.
