McNeese collected seven runs on 13 hits, scoring a run in seven of nine innings as LSU fell to the Cowboys 7-0 on Tuesday night.

With the loss, the Tigers fell to 21-11 on the year while McNeese improved to 18-12.

LSU will face Grambling tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

Redshirt freshman left-hander Jake Latz (0-1) was charged with the loss, firing 1.1 innings and giving up two runs on three hits and two strikeouts in his first collegiate start.

McNeese’s Austin Sanders (3-2) earned the win, allowing only one hit in six innings pitched.

In the top of the first inning, McNeese got on the board as first baseman Connor Crane homered to left for the first run of the game. Pinch hitter Austin Nelson hit a sacrifice fly to center in the second, scoring rightfielder Lewis Guilbeau to give the Cowboys a 2-0 lead.

McNeese tacked on its third run in the third as Guilbeau singled through the right side for an RBI to drive in leftfielder Shane Selman. The Cowboys extended their lead to 4-0 after shortstop Will Fox hit another sacrifice fly to center to bring home Nelson.

In the top of the sixth inning, Fox put McNeese up 5-0 after an RBI single scored Guilbeau. The Cowboys tacked on their sixth run of the game as second baseman Joe Provenzano drove in centerfielder Ricky Ramirez with a single.

McNeese capped off the game in the ninth as Crane grounded out to short with the bases loaded to score Toole, giving the Cowboys the 7-0 victory over the Tigers.
