LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have made two arrests and obtained a warrant for a third suspect in connection with a shooting incident at Acadiana Park on April 10th, according to Lafayette Police.

Kearick Joe, 17, of Lafayette, and a juvenile were arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.

A warrant for arrest for attempted second-degree murder has been obtained for the third suspect, Hunter Lawrence, 18, of Lafayette.

Lawrence should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting took place in Acadiana Park located in the 1200 block of Alexander Street. A 17-year-old male was shot once in the side, he was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Lafayette Police Corporal Paul Mouton said immediately following the shooting, several witnesses transported the victim to a home in the 100 block of Frank Street and contacted police.

Authorities are asking that anyone with any information on the third suspect whereabouts, Hunter Lawrence, contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.

The investigation remains ongoing.
