The Jeff Davis sheriff’s office is investigating an overnight homicide of a 73 year old man.

At around eight Saturday night, an abandoned 2012 Hyndaui was found on Fire North of Highway 14 on Fort Smith road in Vermilion Parish. The vehicle was registered to Charles Raymond Talen Sr. of Jeff Davis. When deputies went to inform Talen Sr. about the vehicle fire, they found him dead in his home.
