After a long wait, the Lafayette Police Department has finally released the personal journal of Grand Theatre shooter John Russell Houser.
Houser killed two women and injured nine others when he opened fire inside theatre 14 during the screening of the movie “Trainwreck.”
Police discovered the journal during a raid of his hotel room off of University and I-10.
In the 40-page diary, Houser wrote many disturbing entries including what he called the downfall of the U.S.
The writings paint a grim future where he said it would eventually be every man for himself.

On the last page, houser writes his death is all but assured marked 6:14.
Then at 6:33, he writes “Trainwreck 7:15.”
Police also released pictures of houser’s hotel room.
Detectives found several items including, a box of Christmas ornaments, an Alabama license plate, an empty .40 caliber pistol box, houser’s suitcase and personal items strewn about the room, just as he left them.
