BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Police in Louisiana have seized a million dollars’ worth of methamphetamine and arrested nine people in a drug probe dubbed Operation Armageddon.

The Advocate reports the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office seized 20 pounds of high-grade meth, eight pounds of marijuana and numerous weapons. U.S. Attorney Walter Green said Tuesday the seizure was part of an extensive probe targeting a drug trafficking network operating in Louisiana and California.

Seven of the people indicted on drug charges are from Baton Rouge. One other suspect is from Breaux Bridge and another is from California.

Green says the seizure is the largest in the sheriff’s office’s history.
