Relay for Life will be held on April 11, 2015 at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.
The Relay begins with a Survivor’s Walk. Cancer survivors walk the initial lap, symbolizing the courage that survivors and their families display and sustain in their daily lives. Later on in the evening, there is a beautiful and touching Luminary Ceremony that pays tribute to cancer survivors and to loved ones who still live on in our hearts. During the Luminary Ceremony, lit candles are placed in luminary bags around the track. The candles burn throughout the night, serving as a reminder of the purpose of Relay for Life and the hope that one day cancer will be eliminated. Relay for Life also represents that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, and for those who are currently fighting cancer, that they will never lose hope. All cancer survivors are invited and asked to register at www.relayforlife.org/stmartinla.
All donations made to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life helps St. Martin Parish. If anyone is interested in creating a team for Relay for Life, please contact Stacey Blanchard at (337) 394-2800.
