Rain chances are expected to increase through the day leading to scattered storms this afternoon and this evening across Acadiana.

A few storms could be strong to severe. The further north you are in the state the better chances you’ll have for severe weather today.

As of this morning, the Storm Prediction Center has northern Acadiana under a “Slight” risk for severe weather with areas along I-10 under a “Marginal” risk.

This threat is on the low end of the likelihood for severe storms.  Acadiana could see damaging winds, large hail, and/or an isolated tornado.

The severe threat should subside overnight with another low risk for severe weather on Thursday as more scattered storms will be possible.
