The documents that were ordered to be unsealed in the murder case against Seth Fontenot will not be open to the public pending an appeal.

On February 2nd,Harry Randow, a retired judge from the 9th district in Rapides Parish ordered most documents unsealed in the case involving the 2013 shooting of three teenagers, killing 15-year-old Austin Rivault and the non-fatal shooting of two other teens.

Randow, who is filling in for an ailing 15th judicial district judge Edward Rubin took under advisement whether other sensitive documents in the case would be unsealed.

But on Monday, Assistant District Attorney J.N. Prather Jr. asked Randow to keep all the documents sealed until he appealed to the third circuit court of appeal. Randow granted the request, according to some of the few court documents in the case that are not sealed.
