Resident Rose Godfrey says more than $100 worth of items, including lights and big wind chimes, have been stolen from her son’s grave.

She says flagpoles and wreaths have been taken from other graves in the Beauregard Cemetery.

The American Press reports that Godfrey told the City Council that her son’s children, age 5 and 7, are even more upset by the thefts than she is.

Police Chief John Gott told her that others have had similar complaints. He offered to put out cameras in hopes of catching the thieves.
