UPDATE: 14 students who were on the school bus at the time received minor injuries from the crash, according to Master Trooper Brooks David of the Louisiana State Police.

David also said the bus driver was cited for failure to yield.

Louisiana State Police and officials with the Vermilion Parish School Board are currently on the scene of a bus crash in Abbeville.

The crash happened on LA 82 at Jane Street just north of the city.

According to school officials, approximately 27 students were on the bus at the time of the crash and at least 5 have been treated for minor injuries.
