One of the remaining six remaining accused members of the gremlin gang is in jail after surrendering to authorities late last night.

Cody Guidry faces a slew of charges for his alleged involvement with the Gremlins Gang.

“Just in fear, like I’m tired, just ready to get it over with,” he said.

Guidry, who police say is one of the 17 members of the Gremlins Gang, was booked into the Abbeville Police Department.

He eluded authorities for months before deciding to turn himself in.

“It took so long because I don’t know what I was getting myself into so I’d rather just run but now I see it’s not working,” Guidry told KLFY.

He faces charges of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, and criminal street gang violence.

The Gremlin Gang case is being investigated by State Police. Master Trooper Brooks David tells News 10’s Kellie Brown that these charges are serious offenses:

“You’re looking at drug crimes and stuff like that, aggravated battery and it’s also two or more crimes. They’re all involved in all three of these crimes and they’ve all been charged with all three of these crimes.”

Guidry is also charged with criminal street gang violence. David explains the charge is for:

“Two or more people, committing felonies, there’s up to 15 or 16 of them, anywhere from murder to attempted murder all the way to drug offenses.”

Guidry was arrested in Vermillion Parish in 2013 for possession of cocaine. He’s set to go to trial in that case in May.

He and others insist that there is no Gremlins Gang and the name comes from a rap group in Abbeville.

David says investigators have been working on this case for over a year and the gang is real:

“We’re not going to charge somebody with a serious crime like this unless we know we have the facts and the facts lead the case where it goes.”

Bond has been set for Guidry. David also encourages the remaining five wanted men to turn themselves into authorities.

Guidry could have up to 50 years in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted.
