The status of North Carolina forward Kennedy Meeks for the Sweet 16 has not been determined, coach Roy Williams said Monday, reports news-record.com.

Meeks injured his knee late in the second half of Sunday’s victory over Arkansas, which the team is calling a sprain. Meeks is set to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

“I don’t expect that we’ll know anything unless something really bad came out of it for the next couple of days,” Williams said.

In 36 games, the sophomore forward is averaging 11.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

The Tar Heels are 5 1/2-point underdogs to Wisconsin.
