Lafayette Police have arrested 21 year old Kenneth Mills and charged him with Negligent Homicide in the shooting death of 21 year old Colin Norwood of Baton Rouge.
Last Thursday, April 7, around 12:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to a reported accidental shooting at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Bertrand Drive.
When officers arrived they found the 21 year old male victim with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Several hours later he was pronounced deceased, according to police.
The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
