Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have arrested James Dansdill (50) of Lafayette and charged him with armed robbery.

Dansdill was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.


Original story (08/22/15):

Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a restaurant in Lafayette. Shortly after 9 a.m. police responded to the Piccadilly at 100 Arnould Blvd on reports of an armed robbery.

Employees at the restaurant told officers that a white male entered the business and loitered for several minutes in the lobby.  The suspect then produced a handgun from a bag he was carrying and demanded money.  The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the area.  No employees were injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a red polo shirt and blue hat.  Video surveillance captured the suspect while inside of the business.  Anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
