On Friday at 4 in the morning,  Lafayette Police responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store, located at 724 Eraste Landry Road.  According to the employee, the suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money from the register.  When the clerk refused to cooperate, the suspect ran from the store on Eraste Landry Road towards Macon Street. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a thin built black male wearing khaki pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
