Three suspects have been arrested after an armed robbery that took place in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Johnston St.

Twenty-year-old Dante King of Alexandria, 29-year-old Randy Wilson of Fresno, TX, and 18-year-old Tyrus Gable of Alexandria, were arrested in suspected connection to the crime.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, they responded to the incident around 12 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Lafayette police say the victim on scene told them he parked his vehicle in a parking lot of a business when two of the male suspects came to his car.

The victim went on to say that one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and stole his wallet. The second suspect then went into the victim’s vehicle and stole his phone. The two suspects and Gable left the scene in a silver car.

A short time later, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of the Evangeline Thruway and Castille. All three suspects were detained and transported to the Lafayette Police Department for questioning.

The Department went on to charge both King and Wilson with Armed Robbery. Gable was charged with Principal to Armed Robbery. The victim was not hurt during the robbery and the investigation is ongoing.
