During a memorial Monday night for the Dallas police officers killed during last week’s ambush, a touching moment was caught on camera between two of the officers’ daughters.

Monica Vasquez, a close family friend of DPD Officer Patrick Zamarripa, shared photos saying a daughter of DPD Sergeant Michael Smith made a bracelet for the daughter of Officer Zamarripa.

Smith and Zamarripa were killed, along with three other officers, when a sniper targeted officers in downtown Dallas on July 7. Ten other people were injured.

The caption reads:

“What a touching moment. The daughter of Sgt. Michael Smith made a bracelet for the daughter of Officer Patrick Zamarripa & gave it to her yesterday at a memorial for their fathers and the three other Dallas officers who were killed in the ambush.

These little girls are forever connected by this tragedy, but hopefully– eventually– comforted by the fact their fathers were heroes.
