Multiple car pile up on Interstate 10 eastbound in Scott. State Police is assisting the Scott P.D. on the scene.  Authorities are advising motorist to use an alternative route if travelling on Interstate 10 and heading into the Lafayette area.

At this time, police say the traffic backup continues to be several miles long.
