UL Junior shortstop Blake Trahan did not get selected on day one of the 2015 MLB Draft. Trahan projected as a late 1st or early 2nd round pick is still waiting for his name to be called.
This is a bit surprising considering where many pro scouts gauged his talent. Trahan, was a team leader for the Ragin Cajuns, he batted .315 with 80 hits and 2 home runs. It was his play in the field, that helped his stock heading into this draft. He’s responsible 96 putouts, and 34 double plays, with a.971 fielding percentage.
This season he’s earn numerous awards, including
2015 Preseason Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American
2015 Preseason Perfect Game Second Team All-American
2014 Brooks Wallace Award Finalist
2014 NCBWA First Team All-American
2014 Baseball America Second Team
Day two of the MLB Draft continues on Tuesday.
