SHREVEPORT, La. (The Shreveport Times) –  Bishop Rickey Moore with Sunrise Baptist Church indicated through social media on Friday he planned to seal himself in a coffin. The act was part of a four-part drama this Easter weekend, presenting a new twist on the typical Easter program, what Moore referred to as going “extreme in 2016.”

However, early afternoon he told The Times there would be not casket present. Instead, he will lay on a blue cot with a space heater for the next 36 hours.

“I thought about a casket so if it started raining I would be able to close the lid to keep the elements from getting on me,” Moore said. “It rained on Thursday morning and the weather man tells us it’s going to be a beautiful day tomorrow and Sunday, so therefore there is no need for us to be in a casket.”

As originally planned, his “resurrection” will occur at 3 a.m. Sunday, where members from his church and the community will experience his words and passion. Moore and his church have been planning the event for approximately a month and are looking forward to the turn-out.

The church is located at 3220 Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport.

“I had a vision about how I could get this city’s attention,” said Bishop Moore. “The lord gave me a vision and because of the vision he gave me I stepped out on faith.”

Bishop Moore said, “It’s in 3D. It’s going to be just like you’re there.”

Moore says while he’s inside he’ll be praying and fasting. He’ll be provided one water bottle over the 36-hour period and will have guardsman protecting his tomb, according to Moore.
