On May 5, 2015 around 9:50 pm, the Lafayette Police responded to the 200 block of Verot School Road in reference to a shooting.
Responding officers reported that the victim was walking to his vehicle, when he was approached by a black male with a handgun who attempted to rob him. The victim was shot once, after being involved in a struggle with the suspect. The suspect then took items from the victim’s pockets and fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
