On March 18, 2015, at 8:34 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 400 block of Ena Street regarding a shooting. According to the victims, they were walking on Ena Street near its intersection with North St. Antoine when a dark colored SUV drove by their location. Suspects inside of the vehicle fired multiple shots in the direction of the victims and fled the area. One of the victims, a 19 year old male, was wounded in the leg. The second victim, a 17 year old male, was shot in the ankle. Both victims were transported to an area hospital in good condition.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department recovered empty casings at the scene and discovered that one vehicle and two homes were struck by the gunfire. No motive has been determined in the shooting. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the suspects to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
