Some organizations helping with flood disaster relief efforts are looking for extra help from teacher and students who are on spring break.

Four different churches from four different backgrounds are hoping to get help cleaning up friends and neighbors’ houses affected by recent flash flooding.

The Jewish Response to Disaster, Poured Out (run by the Church of the Cross), Samaritan’s Purse and the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief are all cleaning out muddy homes to help people get back in them.

“We’re just trying to get people back into their homes as quick as we can,” said Bill Lott, chaplain for the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief effort. “That involves volunteers. It’s really a volunteer organization and we need all the help we can get.”
