A Plant City, Florida man was arrested without incident Wednesday following an incident that was reported on I-10.
Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says a woman reported she was the victim of an attempted abduction by the driver of an 18 wheeler who motioned for her to pull over because her tire was going flat.
The victim advised that she exited her vehicle and upon checking the tires the suspect grabbed her from behind.
The victim told police that she got away from the suspect, jumped in her vehicle and locked the doors.
She was also able to obtain license plate information as the suspect drove away.
The suspect, 24 year old Salvador Navarro of Plant City, FL. was taken into custody by the Davenport Police Department in Polk County, FL and is being charged with one count of sexual battery and one count of attempted abduction.
His bond is set at $140,000.
