On Newsfeed Now for April 11 we began with breaking news from Louisiana and the latest on an arrest in a string of church fires. A man was picked up on Wednesday in the investigation of fires that were set at three black churches in St. Landry Parish. KLFY shared the latest from a morning news conference that had just wrapped up.
At 6:00 the conversation turned to The Masters. Thousands of spectators have descended on Augusta, Georgia for the huge golf championship. Players take to the green Thursday in the first rounds of play. WJBF’s Ashley Osborne gave us a live update on the action.
On to Kansas we went at 10:35 into the program where a school is reviewing its bathroom policy. This comes after a student who needed to go was told to wait by a substitute teacher and the child ended up soiling her clothes. KSNW’s Sara Berlinger joined the conversation with more details.
Our final story started at the 15:05 mark with a stop at the Memphis Zoo where there’s been a baby boom in the giraffe herd this spring. Courtney Janney, Curator of Large Mammals for the zoo joined us from the giraffe exhibit to talk more about the excitement over two babies born in less than a week.
