On Newsfeed Now for April 9, guest host Susanne Brunner started the conversation in Louisiana where a debit card bought at a Walmart store helped track down a missing teen girl. KLFY’s Caroline Marcello joined us with details on how investigators got the tip and used the information to find the 15-year-old in Colorado with a man in his 40’s described as a former family friend.

At 5:20 into the show we turned to Alabama to see how putting real live bugs into virtual reality is helping figure out how they see polarization and then applying that to military technology. The game-changing project is being developed for Air Force pilots. WZDX’s Renata Di Gregorio was with us from Huntsville to share more about it.

From there, at the 9:55 mark, we headed to Mobile, Alabama to find out how the owner of a new hemp dispensary is having to persuade a small town concerned about its image that what he’s selling is not marijuana. He says his products are all legal. WKRG’s Chad Petri called into the show to tell us about how Elberta town officials are reacting.

Our last story clocked in at 13:20 from Springfield, Missouri. That’s where a national youth soccer program designed for children with disabilities is wowing parents. KOLR’s Nyzah McDonald joined the conversation to shed light on the TOPSoccer program that focuses on inclusiveness, skill development, building friendships, and most importantly, fun.
