On Newsfeed Now for March 12 we started the conversation with the daylight saving time debate that’s sweeping the country. Many have taken to social media, including President Trump to debate whether or not daylight saving should still be a thing or not. Lawmakers across the nation have taken up the issue – including those in Arkansas. KARK’s Political Correspondent Jessi Turnure weighed in with what she’s been hearing at the State Capitol.

At the 6:10 mark we turned to a Missouri story that’s generating national interest. In Southwest Missouri, a man with cancer was accused of smoking marijuana in his hospital bed. It turns out he wasn’t but that didn’t stop authorities from searching his room. KOLR’s Collin Lingo joined us to share some of the reaction he’s seen to the story.

Our next topic took us to the nation’s capital at 11:30. Washington Correspondent Drew Petrimoulx was with us to talk about President Trump’s 2020 budget proposal that includes money to launch the Space Force, a new branch of the U.S. Military. After initially proposing the Space Force as a stand-alone Department, the President scaled down his plan after resistance from the military and Congress. The Space Force will now be a part of the Air Force.

And finally, at 16:30, the spring break season is getting underway. Many people are heading to the beach and authorities in some places have been cracking down on underage drinking. In the Florida panhandle, more than 100 have already found themselves in trouble with the law. WKRG’s Bryant Clerkley joined our conversation from Pensacola with details on the string of arrests.
