On Newsfeed Now for April 22, the conversation started with a tiger attack at the Topeka, Kansas zoo. KSNT’s Dan Garrett joined us with the latest on the injured zookeeper and also told us about the fate of the Sumatran tiger Sanjiv, who mauled her on Saturday inside his exhibit.
At 5:15 we headed to Nashville where excited fans are trickling in for the NFL Draft getting underway later this week. Crews are busy setting up. WKRN’s Brie Thiele was with us to share details about the football fun that’s taking over the music city.
From there, at 10:10 into the show, a very different topic: axe throwing. It’s apparently catching on in the Mid-South with multiple venues popping up in the Memphis area. There are even competitions for the growing activity. WATN’s Parker Hays told us all about it.
We began our final story at the 15:40 mark with a stop in Alabama. That’s where some veterans were taking to the skies in a Vietnam-era helicopter over the weekend. WKRG’s Dana Winter told us it was an experience many never knew they’d get again.
