LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Golf Associations’ 99th Louisiana Amateur Championship started bright and early Thursday Morning.
The first group of golfers teed off at 7:30a.m. with the last group starting around 1:30p.m.
After round one, Keithville native Jeffrey Berry finished first shooting -1.
Ragin Cajun Golfer Jack Tolson from Opelousas finished 29th shooting +3.
“I didn’t do my best,” said Tolson, “I missed a couple short puts that kind of got me frustrated.”
Tolson was able to finish on 18 by saving par after hitting his second shot into the bunker.
“I just executed beautifully and made an easy par.”
Other Ragin Cajun Golfer, Triston Elston, finished 21st shooting +1.
Round two will begin tomorrow morning at Oakbourne Country Club.
