Sarah Diaz is one of seven softball players to sign a national letter of intent to play college softball at Southeastern.

The Knights infielder was an All-State, All-Metro, and All-District 7-1A selection and has recorded 22 home runs and 106 RBI’s so far.

During her signing last Tuesday, she expressed gratitude for those who have supported her successful career.

“This is exciting,” Diaz says. “I just want to thank everybody for being here today. I just want to thank my coaches. Y’all are amazing and helped me grow so much.”

One of those coaches is LCA head softball coach Taylor Lollis, who has seen all the hard work Diaz has put in first-hand.

“Ever since she was a freshman, she would work hard day in and day out,” Lollis says. “After practice, she would be with her dad, hitting, catching balls for her dad and hitting in the cages. Her hard work really has paid off throughout the years.”

Diaz expressed gratitude for those moments with her dad right before she inked her dream come true.

“I thank my dad, my biggest supporter,” Diaz says. “Thank you. That’s all I have to say.”
