The LSU men’s basketball team used momentum from a 15-point halftime lead to defeat Alabama, 88-79, on Tuesday night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The win marks 16-consecutive home victories, which ties for fifth all-time in LSU history dating back to the 1992-1993 season.

Sophomore guard Tremont Waters had a game high 19 points, along with four rebounds and seven assists. Senior forward Kavell Bigby-Williams had a game high 12 rebounds to complement 14 points. Freshman guard Ja’vonte Smart also contributed 15 points, four rebounds and five assists for the Tigers.

Freshman guard Kira Lewis Jr. had a team high 15 points for the Crimson Tide. Sophomore guard John Petty Jr. led Alabama in rebounds with eight, while also scoring nine. Sophomore guard Herbert Jones had a team high five assists with 10 points and five rebounds to go along with the performance.

Up next on the schedule, the Tigers will travel to Arkansas to play the Razorbacks on Saturday, January 12, at 5 p.m.
