The LSU Tigers saw their season come to an end with a 5-4 extra innings loss in Game Two of the Baton Rouge Super Regionals vs Florida State. The winning hit coming from FSU’s Drew Mendoza.
LSU finishes their 2019 season with a 40-26 record.
LSU made a furious comeback in the 8th inning, with an Antoine Duplantis RBI double and Zach Watson RBI single. The two clutch hits tied the ballgame at 4-4.
Duplantis accounted for the first three runs batted in of the game for the Tigers.
This came after the Tigers found themselves in two early deficits, 3-0 (2nd inning) and 4-1 (4th inning). LSU starting pitcher Landon Marceaux only lasted 3 2/3 innings pitched, allowing four runs (only two earned) to score.
