St. Thomas More Senior guard Jonathan Cisse scored 21 points in his latest game vs. Carencro.

This is just another stellar performance, STM’s been accustomed to since Cisse started this season.

This stellar showing earns him honors as the KLFY Athlete of the Week

Cisse says been taught many things at STM, but, these two words resonate the most!

“Work hard, Coach Danny [Broussard] always stresses get in the gym. Get shots up, put in the extra time, and it’ll pay off,” he explains.

Coach Broussard adds: “Him going to the fundamental drills day in, day out, has just put his game to another level. Right now he’s pretty much unstoppable in our district. He’s averaging over 20 points a game. He’s just scored over 1500 points for his career, [he’s going to get] near 2000. He’s just a special player that comes around every so often.”

Every so often, the Cougars reach the top 28, and this year, it’s Cisse’s focus, making it back to the state tournament, and coming home with the hardware.

“Last year we ‘re number one throughout the whole season, and we got bumped down to number 2 right before the top 28.  So, as long as we lock down that number one seed, that’s what we’ve been stressing,” Cisse says.

“We could be the #1 seed, and Cisse has it in his mind. And we lost two years by one point, and wants to be on the other side of that and see us on the other side of that table with the one point win,” Broussard says.
