COLUMBIA, S.C. – In the first game of the SEC series, the LSU baseball team was unable to get the bats going as South Carolina defeated the Tigers, 11-0.
LSU falls to 24-15 (9-7) on the season, while South Carolina improves to 21-17 (7-9).
Zack Hess suffered the loss after he gave up three runs on eight hits in six innings of work. Hess recorded five strikeouts on the night.
Logan Chapman worked 6.2 innings of scoreless ball, striking out six and surrendering just two hits, as he picked up the victory for the Gamecocks.
