In a press conference on Wednesday, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell said that he understands the frustration of Saints fans over a missed call in the NFC championship game.
Goodell called referees men and women of high integrity but said “the game is not officiated by robots.”
Goodell suggested that the NFL was willing to look into instant replay technology as part of officiating.
When asked about if he had considered calling for a rematch, Goodell read directly from NFL rules explaining that it was not within his authority.
The NFL fined Los Angeles Rams Nickell Robey-Coleman earlier this week for the helmet-to-helmet hit in the NFC championship game that Goodell says should have been called during the game.
