SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — We got a sneak peek at the incredible high-tech attractions at the Pier 70 Super Bowl concert venue.
Dave Matthews is playing there on Thursday, Pharrell Williams is playing there on Friday, and Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing there on Saturday.
Gabe Slate shows the giant video wall which is sure to turn heads at this venue.
They are transforming the old, dusty warehouse at the end of Pier 70 into a high-tech visual spectacle. It will be an incredible concert venue, with eight giant cutting edge video projectors that are turning the front of the building into an enormous video screen.
It’s pretty amazing seeing this in person. Pier 70 is going all out for these shows. KRON also got a sneak peek inside where they are still setting up.
They are going to have video walls and screen all over that will be showing people’s tweets and Instagram pics they post from the event.Other Information:
DirecTV/AT&T will conduct a test of their unique video mapping external wall (the façade of the warehouse at Pier 70), as well as our projection-mapped photo walls which will display social media posts related to our event in real time. They’ve been building this concert venue from scratch for several weeks. It will be the home to the Super Bowl 50 concerts Dave Matthews Band, Pharrell, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and their surprise special guests.
