The New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis and his representation informed the team on Monday that A.D. wants to be traded for next season!

Davis wants to play for a consistent winner, and have the shot to win a title.

He is eligible to sign a five-year, $240 million supermax extension this summer, and become a free agent in 2020.

Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry says, for now, the job is to go out and win as many games as he can, and he believes A.D. will be on board with that for the rest of this season

“He’s still under contract, he’s still on our team. I spoke to him this morning, he thinks his fingers getting better. He plans on playing out the season.,” said Gentry. “That’s my role, to try and win as many games as we possibly can and I think A.D.’s a professional guy and he’s going to play as hard as he can once he gets well. We’re going to do the best we can to put our team in a position to win games.”

in further response to davis’ request, the pelicans office put out the following statement on monday:

The trade deadline for this season is on February 7, 2019.
