OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) – Police in Opelousas responded to a report of shots fired early this morning.
Chief Martin Mclendon says officers arrived on the scene just before 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Park Avenue and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim suffered a non-life threating injury to the hand area while the second victim was shot in the upper body which a caused a serious injury. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. One victim was treated and released, while the other still remains in the hospital in serious condition.
Video surveillance in the area captured a vehicle that was involved in the shooting. See picture below.

Mclendon says there are no suspects at this time.
