A 33-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday on LA 71 south of Lemoyne in St. Landry Parish, according to State Police.
It happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday and claimed the life of 33-year-old Jovas Presley of Morrow.
According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed Presley was driving a Toyota pickup, southbound on LA 71 and ran off of the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle reentered the roadway, crossed both lanes of travel, struck a ditch, and overturned. according to police.
Presley, who was not wearing a seat belt was partially ejected from the vehicle, and transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to police, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
