ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY)- A 61-year-old Mermentau man is facing multiple drug charges after a home was raided Thursday. 

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant 205 2nd Street in Mermentau.

During the search, deputies found 3.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, 129 grams of Heroin, 16 grams of Cocaine, 37 grams of Marijuana, 224 assorted pills, 10 firearms and over $5,000 in currency. The street value of these illegal drugs is $106,000.00, Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said. 

“Our deputies are doing an outstanding job battling the illegal drugs in our communities,” the sheriff said. “We have a large amount of open investigations and they take time to develop. Their time and effort has not gone unnoticed.”

Mickey Dale Perry was arrested and charged with the following: 

  • 2 counts of PWITD Schedule I (Heroin and Marijuana)
  • 4 counts of PWITD Schedule II (Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, Cocaine, Perio)
  • 3 counts of PWITD Schedule III (Colonaezpam, Diazepam, Carisoprodel)
  • 2 counts of PWITD Legend Drugs (Ciprofloxalin, Tizanidine)
  • Possession of an Unregistered Firearm (Sawed off Shotgun)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Proceeds from Drug Sales
  • Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a School Zone

Perry has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with bond pending.
