NEW ORLEANS, LA – The New Orleans coroner has identified the three people who died after a mass shooting on South Claiborne over the weekend. 

The three victims that died were: 

  • Kurshaw Jackson, 38
  • Taiesha Watkins, 27
  • Jeremiah Lee, 28

WVUE TV is reporting that seven others were injured, but have not been identified at this time. 

Kurshaw Jackson was a twin, a hard worker and planning for the future with his daughter. She is going to graduate this year, and Kurshaw was supposed to go. His mother pleaded with the suspects to turn themselves in. 

Watkins was visiting the city from Houston at the time of the shooting. The father of their child said she left behind a 5-year-old daughter. 

NOPD says they are working with Louisiana State Police, U.S. Attorney’s office, ATF and the FBI are still working to identify the shooter, or shooters. 

Crimestoppers, ATF, and the FBI are offering a reward totaling $25,000 for information that can lead to arrests in the case. 

Police Chief Michael Harrison is urging members of the community to call NOPD Homicide Unit detectives at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers with any information that may help in the investigation.
