LAKE CHARLES, La.– Today around noon the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to a single vehicle with one fatality, near the intersection of Thompson Road and Vassar Lane in Sulphur.

Upon investigation, deputies found that Donald L. Young, 75, of Sulphur, was driving north on Thompson Road when his truck crossed the center line for an unknown reason. The truck then exited the roadway, causing it to roll several times.  

Young, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the truck, and pronounced dead at the scene.  

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the investigation is still continuing.  As mandated by state law, a toxicology report will be conducted.
