Lafayette firefighters responded to a residential fire on the 900th block of South Orange Street around 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

 A neighbor called 911 reporting flames coming from the side of the home. 

The interior of the home was engulfed in flames.

Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire within fifteen minutes.

The occupants, husband and wife with two kids, were not home during the fire. 

All the contents in the home were destroyed by the fire. The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
